The year is 1911. John Marshton was once a dangerous outlaw but has left that life behind to pursue the simple pleasures of being a family man. John is enjoying his new life until the Bureau of Investigation visits him to work out a deal with him and take his wife and kid into custody for leverage. As a former outlaw, John is facing some serious penalties for his past but the FBI is willing to cut him a break if he brings his former gang members to justice. John agrees to these terms, not like he has much choice, and travels to Fort Mercer to confront his former rappy, Bill Williamson. Things go horribly wrong and instead of bringing anyone to justice, John is shot and left for dead, only to end up in the care of Bonnie MacFarlane.
If you’re like me and usually seem to have a rather large bounty on your head, then you might need to make (or loot) a quick buck. If you’re in the vicinity of Fort Wallace, then head West, cross the river, and go up the mountain pass at Window Rock. You’ll find some cave paintings. Arthur will make a note of them in his journal, and from there, cross the river and head just Southeast of the “I” in Ambarino on the
The first-person mode has been a big hit for Grand Theft Auto , so it would make sense that they would include this feature in Red Dead Redemption 2 . While a first-person mode can appear somewhat gimmicky in other games, Rockstar has implemented the gameplay feature quite well in the p
There’s a lot more out there than I thought and most of what I found initially wasn’t very good. I dug a bit deeper, found some treasures, and even some unique games on the awful side. Every game on this list, bad or good, at least tried to do something ambitious for this genre. In that sense, I appreciate the effort. What’s for sure though, is that you shouldn’t miss any of my favorites on this list. If you play them back-to-back Red Dead Redemption 2 will be out before you know it. Without any more delays that is. Let’s put those dismissive thoughts out of our heads and round up the very best and the worst Weste
As one of the industry’s most anticipated announced titles, Red Dead Redemption 2 is certainly no exception. Leaked maps, inside reports, former Rockstar Games employees, and even a potential shared universe all lie ahead. Here are more than a dozen of Red Dead Redemption 2 ’s most fascinating, most mind-blowing rum
Member the games you used to play? We member. The basement at the Hardcore Gamer office has a section known as the Crust Room, with an old grey couch and a big old CRT TV. All the classic systems are down there collecting dust, so in an effort to improve the cleanliness of our work space, we dust off these old consoles every so often and put an old game through its paces, just to make sure everything stays in working order. We even have a beige computer with a floppy disk drive.
Surprise, surprise Red Dead Redemption 2 got delayed. Smugness aside that sucks! I was hoping it was going to follow the trend of Fallout 4 by being in development for years without an official peep to then be revealed with a relatively quick date. Again it’s upsetting, but I at least know Rockstar is going to do their best so the wait will be worth it. However, I was really itching for a new game set in the Wild West, which got me thinking. How many are other Western games there? Obviously, there’s the first Red Dead Redemption and then the completely different Red Dead Revolver on PS2. Those feel like the obvious recommendations if you haven’t played them
One of the spookier finds thus far has been the discovery of a woman chained inside of an outhouse. She’s been disfigured and continues, with apparent difficulty, chanting off numbers in a specific order. If you’d like to see or hear her for yourself, you can head to the Braithwaite Estate. On the outer edge is the outhouse with the inmate in question. What’s her story? What do the numbers lead to? Is she locked in there for good reason? Or is it simply because she’s differ
In order to grab the hat, you’ll need a boat. Head out towards the biggest island around, and you’ll find an even bigger, still mostly destroyed pirate ship. Inside lies your prize; the coolest hat in the Seven S
By forcing you to slow down and complete duties that seem lackluster, you slowly start to feel more present in this world and grow closer to your own version of Arthur. If Red Dead Redemption 2 was just all about riding around the West and shooting up saloons with your revolver, you’d likely feel disconnected from your avatar. The game then just becomes a power trip and the character that you end up playing is just an amplified version of your own wants and desires. Doing simple chores though such as chopping wood, skinning animals and dragging them back to my horse, and donating to the gang’s larger pool of money has made me feel more of a bond with Arthur than any other character I’ve played as in recent memory. My Site bond with the character thus far has been established in these small moments, not the large ones.
