Paying into the gang is totally optional, but it’s something I’d advise you do, if only to improve the mood at camp. However, sometimes it can feel like you’re the only one who gives a modicum about the camp’s welfare. You’re donating $100 at a time, everyone else is putting in about 50 cents. To improve this situation, upgrade Dutch’s lodging. This will (for one reason or another) inspire everybody else to put more into the collection tin. It’s not a drastic improvement, but every little he
_ Red Dead Redemption 2 _ has been available for just over a week, giving players ample amount of time to experience the 60-plus hours of storyline content, in addition to the side-missions and countless other things to do in the vast, wide-open frontier. With so much to do in the game, it would be easy to overlook the overarching story. Luckily, _ Red Dead Redemption 2 _ features a familiar, yet compelling story of the rough life that was led by most in the wild w
No, sorry Sephiroth is not in the game, but perhaps he is the one that summoned this anomaly. If you go north of the V in Roanoke Valley, and slightly to the west, you’ll see a small square. This is a cabin. Make a trip up there to find it has been pierced by a meteor, smoking everyone inside to, well, really gross looking corpses. Bad for them, but good for you as you can sell the leftover chunk for a good bit of c
I’m quite proud to say I discovered this next anomaly on my own. It was fairly early on in the game. I was heading back to camp from Valentine on the main road when I discovered a red trail leading up to a bridge. There you can start the serial destroyer’s quest, which is quite intense. He leaves clues using human bodies. If you figure out the clues you’ll get to see a pretty amazing discovery. I won’t spoil who it is though, but it’s worth
When you’re hunting animals, you want to get the best shots you can, as this will improve the quality of the pelts you get. The cleanest shots are straight to the head. Switch to dead eye, and aim for the head. Press square/X to call to the animal to get them to raise their head for a more direct line of fire. Make sure you use the right weapon for the job too. For animals the size of a rabbit, use the varmint rifle. For larger animals like deer, use a bow. There’s a guide for the weapons to use in your compend
You get hold of a horse brush pretty early on in the game, and it’s a little bit dual-purpose. Throughout your travels, your horse is going to get pretty dirty (just like you). The dirtier your horse, the quicker the horse’s cores are going to drain. Brushing your horse cleans it, as does running it through a body of water. The brush also gains you some kudos from your horse, who deeply appreciates being brus
As the saying goes, “there’s plenty of fish in the sea.” The same can more or less be said of Red Dead Redemption 2 : there are plenty of horses in the Old West. You’ve got a lot of different options when it comes to who you choose to be your traveling companion, and whatever horse you choose, they’ll be sure to appreciate the gesture. The more you use the same horse, doing just about anything, the more your horse is going to trust you. And in the same vein, the more you use the same horse, the more you may grow to trust the ho
This is another find that is perhaps just the start of another quest. If you head directly south of the I in Ambarino, you can find a house reminiscent of ones you can find in The Shire from The Lord of the Rings . Unfortunately, you can’t go inside. There is something else off about it though. Above the door is a turtle symbol, the same one the cult Mary’s brother tried to join. Is there a connection? Perhaps we’ll soon find
Of course, we all know what comes next, as _ Red Dead Redemption 2 _ is the prequel to the original 2010 game. A mid-credits scene ties the two games in perfectly, showing Agents Ross and Fordham finding Marston’s family ra
Getting around the map the old-fashioned way (quite literally), AKA on horseback, is fantastic, and a superb opportunity to learn more about the world. That being said, sometimes you don’t want to traipse all the way across the map, especially if you only want to go to another town just for an item or a haircut. While you can ride in a train or a wagon, there’s an easier, and cheaper way. In the camp ledger, upgrade Dutch’s lodging, and you’ll be able to upgrade Arthur’s. This gives him a map in his tent, allowing you to fast travel anywhere, for f
After a gunfight, there’s always a lot of carnage. One part of this carnage are the bodies of your fallen foes. It may not be the best manners, but always loot them before you go on your merry way. You can often find useful items or valuables on them, that you can then sell at a fence. Just make sure to be quick: the law often make their way towards scenes of crimes, and you don’t want to get caught Red Dead Redemption 2 PC-han
