Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Arthur Morgan Facts Fans May Have Missed

But it turns out that the choices you make for Arthur affect his eventual fate – in other words, giving him a high or low honor score matters. This is different from the first RDR in which this feature didn’t seem to matter too much. Whether you played honorably or not, it didn’t affect the outcome of the g

After completing Mary’s second missing in Chapter Four, players learn that Arthur actually agreed to leave the gang to be with his lover after what he thought would be his final bank robbery. When the stint goes wrong, Arthur ends up getting stuck on Gua

Arthur eventually learns what it means to be a good person, to help other people without selfish intent, but it comes too late. The catalyst for his realization of purpose comes alongside the realization that he is going to die due to tuberculosis. His cough, which appears incessantly in cutscenes but rarely anywhere else, telegraphs his doom very early on. By this point I was finished with the game’s narrative, as both myself and the game knew where this was going. It had nothing more to show me or lead into, and yet it continued to fill time until the finale. In case you weren’t quite clear on what theme Red Dead Redemption 2 was trying to hammer (clumsily as it is) with Arthur Morgan, it has Arthur’s ex-fiance send him a letter that plainly lays it out with the line, “There is a good man within you, but he is wrestling with a giant, and the giant wins again and again.”

The leaker also correctly stated that the game has “5 zones,” which is true. There are five states in Red Dead Redemption 2 , including New Austin from the previous game. (Speaking of New Austin, the rest of this article spoils the epilogue of the game, so that’s another warning for you.)

Man dinosaurs are cool. Well, at least they were before all those feathers got thrown onto them. Jurassic Park knows it, Godzilla knows it, and Red Dead Redemption 2 online guide Dead Redemption 2 knows it as well. That’s why there’s a stranger mission relatively early on where you are able to hunt down the bones of the prehistoric “birds”. The quest is north-east of Flatiron station where a nice old lady professor Deborah asks us to help her out. Find the bone locations and mail the coordinates to here, easy enough ri

How often do you see cowboys on rooftops? Not often, which means that other players won’t be expecting a hail of bullets (or arrows) from up above. While many players will opt to use bushes or other cover zones on the ground, getting a good vantage point from the top of a building could be very beneficial. As mentioned, many players will not think to look up, but more importantly, it also gives you a cleaner line-of-sight for headsh

Thankfully, he eventually learns later on when Red Dead Redemption 2 shows nothing but disdain for the way the United States government and military have treated the Native Peoples that his prior statement was not true at all. However, it does show that Arthur was uninterested in helping other people unless it meant he got paid, even when it was a people group as badly treated as the Natives.

[pullquote]”The trend of characters who kill or have killed only have to take a moment to acknowledge that what they did was bad and not actively work towards helping others to be considered okay is so tired.”[/pullquote]

In Red Dead Redemption 2 Rockstar attempted to take that statement and remove the mocking tone, presenting the fall of Dutch Van der Linde and the dissolution of his gang as a great tragedy, much like the death of the Old West. They found a way to turn the bad into good, and even then not so convincingly.

However, now in the sequel, you’ll get a different fate depending on the good or bad choices you make. If you have low honor, Micah will end up doing the deed. But high honor leads to tuberculosis, which doesn’t necessarily sound like the lesser of two ev

What an interesting take from this leak. So apparently, Red Dead Redemption 2 was stuck in a form of development hell – which is when a game’s initial development is halted and the future of whether or not it will continue is still in the air. It’s interesting that the team “kept remaking a vertical slice demo” as late as months prior to the game’s official announcement. It seems they got everything in order in those months.

Rockstar has implemented a sneaky feature that discourages camping of any kind. Basically, when a player is stationary for too long, the game will broadcast your location to every other player in the match. That’s one sure-fire way to get yourself kil

After Arthur Morgan either dies of tuberculosis or gets shot/stabbed by Micah Bell, depending on your ending, you swap to playing as John Marston with his family; or, as the leaker puts it, “jon marsten.” As the poster originally described at the time:

The leak, which came from “u/reddeadinsider” at the time, accurately predicted the name of the protagonist long before it was publicly revealed through the game’s second trailer over a year afterward : “You play a gang leader named Arthur.” I think the most interesting thing about reading accurate leaks from years before release is that you get to see all the things they changed in between now and then, and there are a few details in here that I don’t recall seeing them make it into the final game.
