Testing the AI Cleanup Process
Recently, I found a vintage tape of a regional group from decades ago. I wanted to hear it for old time’s sake, but the static was overwhelming. I used this as an opportunity to see what AI could do for the file. There was a sense of anticipation as I hit the process button. While the software processed the audio, the results were bittersweet. In one way, it was great; the guitar and drums were suddenly clear and distinct. Conversely, the raw energy and rough edges that defined the song seemed washed away. Is high fidelity always an improvement?
