25 Unresolved Mysteries And Plot Holes Red Dead Redemption Left Hanging

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a graphical and visual achievement for sure, but every “exceptional” story element is merely surface level. By the end of it all, the game feels like a package designed for the mainstream media for some futile campaign proving that games are movies now; a movement that personally seems like it comes more from self-insecurity than from true reverence for the medium. By attempting to signal a movement forward for video games, I feel that in certain ways, this game has moved the form backward.

After running endless chores, Marston is able to gain enough equipment and aid to take the fight to Fort Mercer. By the time you arrive, one of Marston’s allies—the clearly insane Seth—has already made his way inside and is humoring the outlaw gangs ins

[pullquote]”Thematically, both Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Assassination of Jesse James focus on a commune of criminals and gang members, led by a charismatic leader who the rest of the gang eventually become disillusioned with.” [/pullquote]

No big deal, since Marston, doesn’t have any personal investment in the conflict—but why does no one ever really call him out on it? He’s easily able to saunter over to the other side without even the slightest resistance—it’s a bit of a stretch methi

As the Mexican chapter wraps itself up with some dramatic and exciting set-pieces, and with Marston finally getting the better of Bill Williamson—a man he’s been chasing from the jump of the game—yet, all of the excitement sort of glosses over a important fact—why and how has Williamson been hiding with Captain De Santa this whole t

If you haven’t finished both Red Dead Redemption 2 money guide Dead Redemption 1 and 2 , then put down this article and either go play them or find a Let’s Play video to watch, because today we’re going to be delving into major spoilers for both games. Cost aside, here’s another: while you can quickly travel from your base to your destination of choice, you can’t fast-travel from said destination back to your base. You’ll be making your own way back to the camp whatever happens, so you’d better be sure that you’ve planned out your jour

RDR2 being a prequel to RDR has allowed for Rockstar to make a tremendous amount of call forwards, deliberately ensuring that playing RDR after its sequel will have more of an impact. One of these bits of foreshadowing happens when John is missing in a snowstorm at the beginning of the game, and Arthur and Javier are sent out to look for

While this weapon does have some decent accuracy and reload speed, its damage really lets you down. This weapon is mostly used for hunting down medium to large prey and can help you out in a shootout with a large group, but you will most likely have something better on you for fighting. It seems to be a waste to just have a weapon for primarily hunting animals instead of a multi-purpose weapon that can hunt and fight inst

Dead Eye was the incredibly popular game mechanic introduced as far back as Red Dead Revolver that made everyone feel like a true gunslinger. Once activated, time would slow down and the player could pick off several enemies in one sequence, or even disarm people. This gained even wider traction in RDR , and now it’s back. Now, you can activate it any time while slowly pulling the trig

This particular mission sees you collecting valuables from those who owe your gang money. After completing it, you’ll earn the ability to upgrade your camp. These upgrades may sound a little unsubstantial, but they’re the key to unlocking fast travel. You could easily miss that, as there’s very little fanfare, but this is where the functionality is hid

He needs help from several offbeat characters yet doesn’t hesitate to do several thankless errands in return. Why doesn’t Marston (the former outlaw) just threaten these guys and get what he needs instead? He doesn’t have the time to waste and isn’t above going back to his old ways to get what he needs—aside from in this asp

In the mission, Irish is being roughed up by a Welshman and an American, whom everyone confusingly refers to as the ‘Frenchman.’ After Marston saves Irish from the two, he asks him Irish why Frenchie held that specific title—Irish doesn’t bother explaining and it’s never mentioned ag

At this point, Red Dead Redemption 2 feels like a video game attempting to tell a story with modern sensibilities about trying to keep the past alive. There is a fear from the characters that their way of life will be eradicated, and similarly, some creative forces behind this game could very well be afraid that their opportunity to tell a story in this genre is under danger. Like Dutch himself, Red Dead Redemption 2 is afraid of being forgotten and irrelevant and fights to justify the existence of its story and characters.
